How to Choose Size and Grit

  1. Pick the head diameter first: smaller numbers for conservative or anterior work, larger for full coverage crown reduction.
  2. Check the suffix. S means a short head, L a long head, and 199-014 is the longest bur in the range.
  3. Use coarse or extra coarse for bulk reduction and fine to refine the margin. The colour band on the bur shows the grit.
