Disposable Dental Burs with a Flat End Cylinder Head
Rapid flat end cylinder burs are sterile, disposable FG diamond burs with straight walls and a flat tip. The flat end cuts a level floor and a sharp, defined line angle in one step. Each bur is ready for the handpiece straight from the pack, and a pack holds 25 burs of one ISO size and grit.
What the Flat End Cylinder Is Used For
The flat tip is the shape for preparations that need a flat floor or a defined shoulder:
- Cavity preparation
- Crown preparation
- Inlay and onlay preparation
Specifications
| Shape | Flat end cylinder |
|---|---|
| Shank | FG (friction grip, high speed) |
| Abrasive | Diamond |
| Supplied | Sterile, single use |
| Pack size | 25 burs |
| ISO sizes | 109-010, 111-012 |
| Grits | Medium (109-010), Coarse (109-010, 111-012) |
How to Choose Size and Grit
- Choose 109-010 for narrow boxes and conservative preparations, and 111-012 where you need a wider floor.
- Coarse grit reduces quickly. Use medium to refine the floor and walls of the same preparation.
- The colour band on the bur shows the grit, so you can check before the bur goes into the handpiece.
Tips for Best Results
- Keep the bur square to the floor you are cutting to get a level surface.
- Work with water spray and short strokes.
- Discard after the patient. A used flat tip loses its edge first.
