Monolac - Synthetic Absorbable  Sutures 

Monolac monofilament sutures by Vitrex are a mid-term absorbable and synthetic. They are made of glycolide and ε-Caprolactone. They are excellent for all indications, when a mid-term monofilament is needed.

The material is degraded into adipic acid, which is completely metabolised in the body. The process begins with a loss of tensile strength, followed by a loss of mass at a later stage. During absorption the material elicits only a very slight inflammation.

Indications:

General soft tissue approximation and/or ligation in all specialties, where an absorbable material is indicated.

Contraindications:

Monolac monofilament should not be used in tissues subject to expansion, stretching or distension, or which might require long-term mechanical support.
