Why 12 Blades With Straight Blades Work on Composite
- Advanced blade setup: ideal for all composite materials
- More control: no spiraling that pulls the bur or the composite
- Superior finish: ideal blade contact points leave a smoother surface
Tapered Finishing Bur vs Tapered Fissure Bur
The tapered fissure burs (169, 170 and 171) have 6 blades and are operative burs for cutting cavity walls. This 12-blade tapered bur is a finishing bur: it removes less per revolution and is used to trim and smooth composite margins and contours. For the operative version see the tapered fissure carbide burs.
What Tapered Carbide Burs Are Used For
Trimming excess composite, shaping axial surfaces and smoothing margins after curing. After the carbide finish, polish with a composite polisher. Other shapes are in the finishing burs collection.
